Do I need to have prior experience?

No prior experience is needed.

The development of teaching methods and proven building systems and processes ensure that every stage of the hand building of your guitar is properly covered.

With the help of specific moulds and jigs and the expert guidance and knowledge of Phil Carson Crickmore the difficult aspects of guitar building become achievable and the building process becomes an enjoyable one rather than a disappointing experience.

Can I make a great sounding guitar?

This is always the second question without fail,  History has laid a great road of information for us all to take avantage of ..the designs, history and knowledge that I impart is proven , start with choice grade tone woods , 38 years of building experience, historically proven designs and you have an excellent start to a great sounding guitar.  

Phil Carson Crickmore's career as a Master Luthier speaks for itself with 38 years in the industry and having built guitars for such people as John Butler, Xavier Rudd and many more.

Yes you can build an instrument that will be beyond your expectations the bar has been raised far beyond any other course that is being offered in Australia to date. You will have the most experienced Teacher in Australia available to instruct you with 38 years as a professional guitar maker and access to a fully equiped guitar making workshop and access some of the world's most sought after guitar making woods.

Where is the School?

Carson Crickmore School of Guitar Making is situated at Workshop  6 Lewis Drive Castlemaine Victoria.

Its unique location is the former gold mining town of Castlemaine situated 90 minutes north of Melbourne in between Ballarat and Bendigo dubbed the Northcote of the north Castlemaine has a lively artistic community with some of the best architectually preserved buildings from the gold rush days  

Castlemaine can be accessed by Vline direct to Castlemaine Station and the Calder Highway. 

Can I come and meet you and see your workshop?

Yes of course you can, you can make an appointment by either phoning or emailing me and we will be happy to answer all your questions and show you around the workshop premises.

What tyes of guitar's can i choose from in the course?

There are over 15 different styles of guitars to choose from. Please refer to page 3.

Do I have options in paying by instalments for the courses?

Yes, you can pay by instalments by arrangement.
